Jordan and I Break In Our Six Flags Membership

Jordan and I Break In Our Six Flags Membership

On Father’s Day, Jordan and I hit Six Flags for an afternoon of fun on the coasters.  Six Flags is up north of us in Guerney, IL.  Laura stayed back as she was recovering from her gall bladder surgery; we met her for dinner at BW3 afterwards. Here is a map that shows the location: One of our first rides was the space needle that goes up high enough to see the whole park.   We rode all sorts of…

Easter 2014: Saturday Indians Game

Easter 2014: Saturday Indians Game

On Saturday April 19th 2014, we took Mom and Dad to an Indians game to celebrate Dad’s birthday.  The Indians lost 5-0 to the Toronto Blue Jays, but we still had a fun time.  Here is a shot of the intrepid fans preparing to head down to the seats in 46F weather!     Here are some shots of Progressive Field (I still call it The Jake and probably always will…).       While I was there, I captured…

We Meet Remy At Lunch

We Meet Remy At Lunch

We ate lunch at France in Epcot, and got to meet Remy, the rat chef from Ratatouille.  The waiter had a controller hidden in the tray, and made the rat react to the customers.  Very Fun!

Our 2012 Disney Trip: Port Orleans

Our 2012 Disney Trip: Port Orleans

Back in May once Jordan’s school let out, we took a trip to Disney.  I had to work through Jordan’s spring break due to my ill-fated Australian project, so we went in May for about 4 days.  After Laura’s worst plane ride ever (screaming baby two rows up for 2.5 hours), we ended up at Port Orleans and started our trip.  Here are some of the photos! Port Orleans Here is how Disney describes the Port Orleans French Quarter: Disney’s…

We went to Disney World in Florida after Jordan’s school year ended in late May.  We got some really good photos while there!  First up:  Jordan’s favorite ride, Tower of Terror. Laura was closing her eyes so as not to lose her contact lens as the drop started. Jordan also really liked Splash Mountain! And what trip to Disney World would be complete without a ride on Space Mountain? Keep looking here as I’ll be posting some more good shots…

Historic Fernandina Buildings

Historic Fernandina Buildings

Fernandina Beach has had a settlement of some type since the Spaniards came to the New World and settled St. Augustine.  Down at the harbor, there is a historic district with some very cool buildings. Here is the train depot station building from the first Atlantic-Gulf of Mexico railroad, opened just before the Civil War: Here is Villa Las Palmas, built as a gift from a wealthy and older businessman for his 17 year old bride: It has a beautiful…
