Amelia Island Getaway
This is the Amelia Hotel at the Beach in Fernandina Beach, Florida. We stayed here for a week with Laura’s mother over Jordan’s spring break. We simply had to cross the street and walk onto the public beach there.
Fernandina Beach is on Amelia Island, on the Atlantic and just south of the southern Georgia border. It is home to old town Fernandina, a Spanish settlement; Fort Clinch, a Civil War era fort, the town of Fernandina Beach, and great ocean beaches. We really had fun!
Here’s a shot of the oldest bed and breakfast in town, the Florida House. We had drinks there on several evenings and enjoyed it!
Here’s the Villa Las Palmas, built by a much older businessman for his 17 year old bride. Hands down, this is my favorite historic home in the historic district:
And the beach right outside the hotel:
And Jordan on the beach:
We had a blast on Amelia Island. You should put it on your destination list. Stay tuned…I’ll post more pictures soon!
