On Father’s Day, Jordan and I hit Six Flags for an afternoon of fun on the coasters. Six Flags is up north of us in Guerney, IL. Laura stayed back as she was recovering from her gall bladder surgery; we met her for dinner at BW3 afterwards. Jordan competed in the St. Valentine’s Meet in Chicago last weekend. This was her season-best meet; her all-around score was 35.100 and she scored her season-high on floor with a 9.075. Way to go Jordan! Another great thing about this meet: Laura travelled with us to the meet and saw Jordan’s performance. This is the first time that Laura has left the house aside from doctor’s visits since she broke her right ankle and a bone in her left foot. …

Jordan competed in the annual St. Jude meet that raises funds for the St. Jude Children’s Hospital on January 10th, 2015. She scored 33.350, a little lower than she wanted, but nailed an 8.800 on Uneven Bars. This is her season high and none too shabby for a new level with much harder skills to master! Huff Arena U of I Panorama 12142014 small Image 1 of 1 Jordan competed here on December 12th at the Justin Spring meet. She scored 34.850 all-around and qualified for State in her second meet of the season. Way to go Jordan!
We went back to Cleveland to spend time with family over Thanksgiving. We had lots of fun, and even had a near-accident out on the Indiana Tollroad, where some poor motorist learned the hard way not to pass on the right with a slow-moving semi in the mix. Jordan went to a week-long gymnastics camp, called FlipFest, in Tennessee. We picked her up and spent a night in Nashville, taking a dinner show boat tour on the Cumberland River. Jordan’s camp was in Crossville, right on Lake Frances. Here are some shots from Jordan’s camp. After camp, we headed to the Opryland Resort in Nashville. Last night, we took Jordan and some friends to the Heart of Illinois Fair to ride rides and eat fair food. And of course to peoplewatch, a time-honored tradition that goes back to the Cuyahoga County Fair.
